Cooking During COVID19

I’m not sure how you’re feeling but I’m feeling tired when it comes to cooking at home for the past 8 weeks. I think part of this is the constant prepping, cooking, serving, cleaning that is repeated 5 times a day. Yes, 5 times a day. Maybe that’s part of the problem.

Starting Ingredients

I’m sure many of you are in a groove and have a set of recipes that you keep on top of your head. Like you, I have repeated those recipes a few times and I’m stuck looking for new recipes to make. At the same time I’m tired of making several different dishes every day. I went back to my old post that your stovetop has at least 4 burners.

What’s been helping me during this COVID19 time is taking my ingredients and making a starting base which can be used in several dishes. This round, I used about 4 pounds of country style pork. I started off in 1 pot…onions, garlic, salt, and pepper. The flavor on its own was delicious. I then divided the starter in half.

One half, I continued to cook and added more garlic, tamarind, and leafy vegetables. The other I added paprika, tumeric, curry powder, curry mix, root vegetables and more onion.

Instantly, I made two different dishes.

What have you been doing to help your cooking adventures during this time?
