You also need to factor in tax on the car, car insurance, services, and MOTs and additional maintenance costs, such as oil, new tires, repairing scratches, and more. Once you have your budget, you can start looking at the best vehicles within it.

If you’re not planning to buy the car of your dreams with cash, you’ll need to fund it through some other means. It can make sense to get a credit union car loan, but irrespective of who lends you the money, be sure to choose a provider that offers low-interest rates.

You should also make sure that you can afford the monthly payments. Otherwise, you risk having your car repossessed if you don’t keep up with your loan repayments.

Of course, you don’t have to settle for cars as they’re sold on the market.
