Unexpected Costs In Your Wedding

When you get married there are so many things that you need to consider. Once you have booked your venue and got that out of the way it can feel like you can relax, particularly if you have booked a wedding package that has things such as your chair covers and catering included. Unfortunately, that is not the case. It is only once you sit down and think about all the other things that are included in your wedding that you will realize the smaller, unexpected costs that you need to factor into your budget. Here are some of the unexpected costs to look out for…

Your entertainment

The entertainment for your wedding is one of the most important things to consider and it can really fluctuate in price. You need to decide whether you will want someone such as DJ to provide the music, or if you would like a live band. You might also want both for different parts of the event. If you are trying to save costs, you can also make a playlist on your laptop which you can hook up to a sound system and play in the evening. The good thing about a DJ or band is that they can read the room and play songs accordingly, but with music on your phone, you can also change these if needed!

Your wedding party outfits

Suits and bridesmaids’ gowns can be expensive! You will need to decide on your budget for this and think of things such as if you are going to buy them or hire them. You will also need to think about the other little costs and if you are going to pay for these or ask your wedding party to do so. This includes things such as your bridesmaid’s hair and makeup, shoes, and their jewelry for the day. Think about these ahead of time and do your research to try and find the best value possible, while also ensuring you get a high-quality service.

Your wedding favors

With wedding favors, you don’t want to spend a lot and it is often said by wedding venues that they end up throwing lots of them away at the end of the night. This is why you want something that your guests will love and want, but that doesn’t cost the earth. A good idea can be something that they can eat or drink as this will get consumed during the evening. Why not have a different shot for each table and they have to drink it when you do your speech?

Your wedding car

There are a host of wedding cars out there and it is up to you to decide which is best for you. It could be that you have a very nice car or a retro vehicle of your own and want to use this one. If so, be sure to look at affordable auto repair services to give it a once over so it doesn’t break down on the way! The last thing you want is to be late for your wedding! There are many services online you can use to rent a wedding car if you want to be driven by someone else and there are a host of cars to choose from, from limos to vintage vehicles.

If you want to stay overnight

This is particularly true if you are having your wedding in a hotel. Keep in mind whether you will want to stay over at the end of your wedding and how much this will cost. It is a nice thing to do and means you don’t have to worry about getting into a taxi at the end of the night or having a long journey back if you have indulged in a little too much champagne! A lot of hotels will offer special rates for the bride and groom and their guests to be sure to enquire about this. Also, be sure to book ahead of time just in case their rooms sell out! Why not splash out on a suite for your big day?

These are just a few things that you need to think about when it comes to totaling up your wedding. You need to keep a note of all the little things and it is a good idea to try and bargain down your prices if possible. If you are ordering items in bulk, for example, you can sometimes get a discount. What are some of the unexpected things you found at your wedding? Do you have any tips? Let us know!
