As summer ends, consider cleaning your BBQ grill. If you used your grill more than twice this summer, it might be a good idea to maintain and clean your grill.
In the image above, we definitely piled the coals onto once side of the grill but it flamed up because there was a bunch of grease at the bottom of the grill.
Cleaning the grease will prevent these flames ups. During cleaning you want to check up on:
- The ash tray – clean that too
- Nuts and bolts – clean them and remove as much rust as possible
- The grate – clean it with soapy water and a scouring pad, dry it completely, and oil it with some flax seed oil
Don’t be afraid to use water in these kettle grills. Just make sure to dry it all out.
