From Farm to Table: The Local Movement Taking Over the Restaurant Industry

In a city that constantly reinvents itself, one restaurant is standing out from the rest. Fete Restaurant celebrates the local farm-to-table movement, bringing fresh and seasonal cuisine to Honolulu diners. With an open kitchen, lush plant wall, and rustic brick walls, Fete transports you to a brasserie in Brooklyn or Paris – all with a laid-back Hawaiian sensibility. The bar features artisanal cocktails and a well-curated wine list, while the menu offers inventive dishes like bavette steak with gochujang sauce and ginger scallion fried rice. With 2022 James Beard Award Winner for Best Chef Northwest & Pacific at the helm, Fete is setting the new standard for Honolulu dining.

At Fete – it’s all about celebrating Hawaii’s agricultural bounty, from local produce to sustainably-caught seafood. They take pride in sourcing their ingredients from nearby farms and fishermen whenever possible. By embracing the farm-to-table movement, Fete is doing its part to keep Honolulu’s food scene vibrant – and delicious. So if you’re looking for a unique dining experience filled with fresh flavors, stop by Fete Restaurant for a taste of what Honolulu has to offer! You won’t be disappointed.

We had the opportunity to try the Korean Bavette and Coconut Kaua’i Prawns. The bavette is a grass-fed grilled Kua’aina Ranches bavette, Tutu’s gochujang sauce, ginger scallion fried rice, sunny local egg, with an Asian pear slaw. This dish was amazing! The flavors were very well-balanced. The staff at Fete showed care in their service and knew many details about their menu.

We also tried the Coconut Kaua’i Prawns. This dish consists of organic Kauai brown shrimp, a house-made coconut milk curry sauce and is served with jasmine basmati rice. The prawns were cooked to perfection, not too firm or too soft, and had an incredible flavor that was heightened by the delicious curry sauce.

Experience dining at its finest at Fete Restaurant. With the local farm-to-table movement on full display, you’re sure to have a unique and memorable meal – all while supporting Hawaii’s agricultural industry! Make your reservation today! You won’t regret it!
