Business 101: Why Don’t your Customers Trust You?

If you know that you have a very high business churn rate then this is a strong indicator that you are doing something wrong. In a lot of cases, customers choose to abandon brands that they do not trust. This could be down to underperformance or it could be due to lack of transparency. In a lot of cases, you need to pinpoint why you are not getting the sales you need. If you can do this then you will soon find that it is very possible for you to address the issues that you happen to be facing.

You Don’t Follow up

If you overpromise and then proceed to underdeliver then this will work against your brand. When you say you are going to give a particular perk to a customer, you have to do what you can to try and follow through. Whenever you say that you are going to update a customer on their transaction or the status of a purchase, you have to make sure that you do this. If you can take the time to set realistic expectations and if you can be responsible enough to fulfil them then this will help you to solidify your brand as one that can be trusted.

You Don’t Protect their Privacy

We live in a world that is driven by information and data. It is very easy to argue that information is quite possibly the most important resource that a business could hope to have. It makes sense that you need to do whatever you can to protect this data too. A lot of small business owners make the mistake of thinking that they are not going to be targeted by hackers because they don’t have big-ticket clients. This is not true at all, in fact, a lot of hackers choose to target small business owners because they often lack security. If you want to do something about this then make sure that your security system is the best that it can be and also take the time to protect your customer’s payment information too. Click here to set up card on file payments securely.

You Don’t Respond

Responding to your customers quickly on social media isn’t just a sign that you are able to provide a fast service. In fact, it is actually an indication that you are completely in tune with their needs and that you are truly capable of providing them with efficient customer support. As social media is now a growing part of people’s lives, it’s now more necessary than ever for brands to utilise it. If you can, try and pay attention to your social channels and make sure that you have a team who are completely dedicated to your online presence where possible.

You Don’t Communicate

If you can take the time to communicate clearly then this will give your customers faith in your brand. At the end of the day, it is imperative that you give your customers up-to-date information and that you also make sure that you connect with them. It doesn’t matter whether this is through GIFs, videos or even photos because things like this remain to be the best way for you to liven up your messages.
