Great Pop Toys from the Past

An extensive range of old toys change the face of toys forever from cars and transformers and dolls and more innovative technologically advanced toys. And not all of them were just for kids. Us older kids loved playing with a few of them too. Iconic toys sold out despite how many of them were made. Let s have a look at a few of these iconic toys and have that sense of nostalgia with them.

Hot Wheels

In 1988 Mattel brought out Hot Wheels, and the world hasn’t looked back. The team that made them was asked to create a toy car that simply outperformed everything else in the marketplace. Another key concept was that it was to appeal just as much to adult kids as it was to the children themselves. These tiny cars were made to satisfy the audience’s need for speed and top[ performance. They also showcased a stunning eye for detail, mirroring the original full-sized car’s makeup.

The Rubik’s Cube

Who hasn’t tried to twist and turn this colored cube and getting frustrated with their inability not to make the colors match? This 1974 genius invention by Erno Rubik, a professor from Hungary. His vision was to teach his students all about problems in the three-dimensional sphere in a way that they were physically able to see and try and solve. The end result is the Rubiks cube puzzle, a 54-colored sticker cube. The cube shot to fame, and by the 1980s, pretty much everyone who was anyone had one. The Rubik’s cube is one of the most iconic toys for both adults and children alike, and since the 1980s, the original dean has sold over 400 million. That is a lot of puzzling.

The Cabbage Patch Kids

In 1983, Coleco brought out these uh-hem beautiful dolls, which became an instant hit. The original idea for these dolls was invented by the artist Xavier Roberts in the late 1970s. He had handmade some fabric sculptures that he called Little People. These dolls were transformed into the unbelievably successful Cabbage Patch Dolls, and Roberts never looked back.

Transformers

In 1984 Hasbro bought out the Transformers, and they were definitely more than meets the eye. A cool toy that transformed from a car or plane to a robot, what could be better than that? They were accompanied by a cartoon, and some films followed where the Autobots always destroyed the Decepticons.

The Bong

The bong is definitely one for adults, and this has never really gone out of fashion. In fact, it dates back to over 2400 years ago and shows no signs of stopping. It wasn’t until the 1960s or so that it was given its iconic bright colors that we know today. The colored designs are perfect for watching the smoke travel through the tubes. You get an auditory element, too, with the sound of water gurgling and splashing about. It is the perfect piece to merge with the more recent way to purchase things like the bulk delta 8 flower.
