sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A special request came to me a week ago.\u00a0 One of my friends wanted me to bake her daughter a cake.\u00a0 But not just any cake.\u00a0 A cake with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sanrio.com\/characters\/Chococat\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chococat<\/a> on it.\u00a0 I was honored.\u00a0 Chococat is one of my favorite characters from Sanrio.\u00a0 My favorite character is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sanrio.com\/characters\/BadtzMaru\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Batz-Maru<\/a>.\u00a0 I have a couple Batz-Maru branded items.\u00a0 One day, I might get the Batz-Maru Bass Guitar but for now a few stickers will do.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/edelalon.com\/blog\/2009\/12\/move-over-hello-kitty-here-comes-chococat\/chococat_head2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1626\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-1626\" title=\"chococat\" src=\"https:\/\/edelalon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/chococat_head2-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"chococat\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.edelalon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/chococat_head2-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.edelalon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/chococat_head2-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.edelalon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/chococat_head2-100x100.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>I just realized that Chococat and Batz-Maru are both boys.\u00a0 Man, Sanrio has me pegged.\u00a0 I feel a little violated but at the same time I don&#8217;t think I&#8217;ll stop buying Batz-Maru paraphernalia.\u00a0 Maybe to battle my Hello Kitty toting office mates.<\/p>\n<p>Back to the cake.\u00a0 This round, I did some things differently in my cake preparation.\u00a0 I used box cake mix and with the box cake mix I separated the egg whites from the yolk and beat them until they had small peaks.\u00a0 Then I made the rest of the recipe according to the instructions and at the end of making the batter, I folded in the egg whites.\u00a0 When I make cupcakes, this is part of my routine and I thought it might help in the fluffiness.\u00a0 The cake turned out fluffy but I&#8217;m not sure how much fluffier.<\/p>\n<p>The decorating was done in fondant.\u00a0 I forget how moist the fondant can get when making black.\u00a0 Make sure you keep dusting your hands\/board with powdered sugar.\u00a0 As a side note, putting store bought fondant in your Kitchen Aid with a dough hook doesn&#8217;t work.\u00a0 I didn&#8217;t use Pocky sticks for the whiskers this round.\u00a0 Instead I covered skewers with fondant&#8230;I&#8217;ll use Pocky next time.<\/p>\n<p>Show me your favorite Sanrio cakes!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/edelalon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/chococat21.jpg\"><img
