There are many ways to prepare it. Each island in the Philippines has a different way of preparing it. I believe that they are all different because of the availability of ingredients in each location. With that said, here is a quick adobo recipe when you do not have fresh ingredients.<\/p>\n<h2>Ingredients<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredients\">\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-amount\">1 rack of pork ribs<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-amount\">2<\/span> tablespoons garlic powder<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons onion powder<\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-amount\">5<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit\">pieces of<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">dried bay leaves<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">1\/4 cup vinegar<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-amount\">1\/2<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit\">cup<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">soy sauce<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-amount\">1<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit\">tablespoon<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">ground pepper<\/span><\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon peppercorns (if you have any)<\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\">1 can of your favorite lemon\/lime soda like Sprite or 7-Up<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Method<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Slice the pork ribs to create individual bones.<\/li>\n<li>Combine all the ingredients except the vinegar.<\/li>\n<li>Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours.<\/li>\n<li>Take out of refrigerator and place ribs in a pot on the stove.<\/li>\n<li>On high heat, bring it to a boil and cook for 15 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Reduce heat to medium-low and cook for 30 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Add the vinegar.<\/li>\n<li>Cook for another 15 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Serve over hot rice.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-20027\" src=\"https:\/\/edelalon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/marinade_adobo-1024x498.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"696\" height=\"338\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.edelalon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/marinade_adobo-1024x498.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.edelalon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/marinade_adobo-1536x746.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.edelalon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/marinade_adobo-696x338.jpg 696w, https:\/\/www.edelalon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/marinade_adobo-1068x519.jpg 1068w, https:\/\/www.edelalon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/marinade_adobo-1920x933.jpg 1920w, https:\/\/www.edelalon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/marinade_adobo-864x420.jpg 864w, https:\/\/www.edelalon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/marinade_adobo-300x146.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.edelalon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/marinade_adobo-768x373.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.edelalon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/marinade_adobo.jpg 2000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Adobo is a foundation when it comes to Filipino cooking.
