Sure, you probably want to develop your own recipes and ideas eventually, but it\u2019s a lot easier to do that when you already have a good level of experience making other people\u2019s recipes. Roughly estimating measurements is rarely a good idea when you\u2019re baking a cake for the first time. You don\u2019t want to be caught out and end up ruining a recipe because you guessed a measurement wrong.
