Tempting taste buds, teasing the olfactory senses and forming part of our best memories. Summer picnics and wintertime soups.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Of all the nations in the world, America is blessed with probably one of the more diverse smorgasbords of opportunities, thanks to our unique melting pot of cultures. Successive waves of immigrants have brought with them the food of their home countries, and on just about any American Main street, you can find anything from Chinese and Indian to French and Japanese.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">All of this is delightful for the committed chefs among us and does our taste buds a considerable service, but our waistlines are less than appreciative. But waistline ingratitude aside, we still believe that sometimes you have to throw away the rule book and indulge. (Just a smidge, mind you, 2022 beckons)<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">IT\u2019S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">There simply is no way around it; the Holiday season in America is more than just time to wind down and bond with family and friends; it\u2019s also the\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">perfect<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0time to participate in one of our national pastimes &#8211; eating. And it\u2019s not just any old food, mind you; Holiday food from Thanksgiving onwards is loaded with delicious Turkey and stuffing, salads, yams, sweetened vegetables, and we\u2019ve not even\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">started<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0on deserts yet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foodnetwork.com\/holidays-and-parties\/packages\/holidays\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Here<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0are some inspiring ideas to get you started. You\u2019re welcome.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">KEEPING AN EYE ON HEALTHY EATING<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Now we don\u2019t want to cramp your style, that\u2019s for sure, but we do want you to have a Holiday season to remember &#8211; for all the\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">right<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0reasons. So every once in a while, after you\u2019ve sampled some delectable hearty meals like\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/edelalon.com\/blog\/2021\/11\/jacks-meatloaf\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Jack\u2019s Meatloaf<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, pop on over to your local fresh fruit and vegetable market to stock up on all the good stuff &#8211; and believe us when we say it, healthy does\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">not<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0have to equal boring.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Today we have the privilege of dozens of food styles and varieties from every corner of the world. When you\u2019re looking at dining like a king without having to double up at the gym, Thai, Korean, Japanese, and Balinese cuisine offers dazzling flavors and scintillating scents &#8211; without the extra calories.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">TRAIN YOUR BRAIN<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">So much of what we eat is hardwired into our consciousness because that\u2019s where we store so many of our memories. This is why childhood favorites are so hard to kick but never taste the same as how your mom cooked them, so when it\u2019s time to start making some changes &#8211; phase them in.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Start with substituting ingredients, and over time, you\u2019ll learn to appreciate the newer version of your favorite dish.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">With all of that being said, we would be remiss if we didn\u2019t remind you that eating healthy doesn\u2019t mean eating bland &#8211; take this simple baked chicken breast\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.apinchofhealthy.com\/baked-chicken-breast\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">recipe<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.
