Below are three things to consider when buying one.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The size of the engine\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Just like buying a car, motorbikes have different size engines. The bigger the engine size the faster your bike will go and the greater the cost to your insurance. If you are new to bikes, we would recommend purchasing a smaller size engine so that you can get used to riding a bike before going for something larger. If you have ridden one before and have a good level of confidence on one you could go for a larger one to start with. A smaller engine size would be classed as a 125cc, the<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.triumphmotorcycles.co.uk\/motorcycles\/rocket-3\/rocket-3\/engine#:~:text=WORLD'S%20LARGEST%202%2C500cc%20CAPACITY,and%20performance%20than%20its%20predecessor.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0world&#8217;s largest engine size<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0is 2500cc &#8211; a lot larger in comparison.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Your insurance cost\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">We just touched on it above, but your insurance cost for your motorbike is something you should take into consideration. Insurance is often cheaper than cars but if you are new to riding, it can still be expensive. Before purchasing any bike, make sure you run it through a price comparison site to confirm what the costs will be. Depending on the comparison site you use, the prices can vary as well as the type of job you do, where you live and if you have had any accidents in the past.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">To buy new or secondhand\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A consideration to make when buying a bike is whether you purchase a<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.devittinsurance.com\/guides\/buying-a-motorcycle\/new-vs-used-motorcycles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0new one or go second-hand.<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0Neither is the wrong decision, instead they both have their pros and cons on one over the other. Buying new means the bike hasn&#8217;t been used before, it&#8217;s got no mileage on it and you reduce the chances of anything going wrong with it. Secondhand will be cheaper, you can find unique bikes that you can&#8217;t buy new anymore and it&#8217;s better for the environment. When buying secondhand make sure you check the service history, previous owners and why they sold it as well as any future costs that you may incur if buying the bike.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Buying a motorbike is an exciting process. There are so many different types of bikes out there, in many different shapes and sizes. Our main rule would be, do not rush when buying one, take your time to make sure it&#8217;s the right bike for you.
