What should universities and colleges be doing to rebrand themselves and appeal to their audiences? Here\u2019s everything you need to know.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Address Students Where They\u2019re At<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Colleges often believe they know who their students are and how to appeal to them. But like all groups in society, cohorts change from time to time. Millennials, for example, were very different from today\u2019s crop of Gen Zers, according to <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/deeppatel\/2017\/09\/21\/8-ways-generation-z-will-differ-from-millennials-in-the-workplace\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Adapting to these changing needs and requirements is an excellent way for colleges to make themselves more relevant. The more they can appeal to the specific needs of the group they want to service (and the more <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">they<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> can understand it), the more successful they will attract applicants.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Be More Affordable<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Another thing universities can do is focus on becoming more affordable. Lowering the cost of tuition can make them more compelling and encourage students to apply and take the risk.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Sites like <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.campusworksinc.com\/shared-services\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">https:\/\/www.campusworksinc.com\/shared-services\/<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> explain more about how colleges can implement cost-saving measures. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Often, it requires using more software and technology, automating tasks, and ensuring staff are constantly busy instead of having void periods where <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">not much<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> happens.<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Being more affordable could also involve <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cxl.com\/blog\/value-proposition-examples-how-to-create\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">increasing the value proposition<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Instead of giving students just a couple of hours of contact time per week on a history course, <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">perhaps<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> they might be more inclined to sign up if they knew they <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">were going to<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> be busy in the lab from 9 to 5.<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Partner With Local Enterprises<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Another strategy colleges can use to rebrand and remake <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">themselves is to partner<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> with local enterprises. This way, they can align themselves with the current needs of the job market.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">At the moment, students are aware of the mismatch between the work available to them and the courses offered by many colleges and universities. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">What they want is<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> more relevant tuition so <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">that<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> they can secure their careers and do better as the economy goes forward.<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">For instance, becoming an intern or an apprentice can be extremely valuable.
