{"id":350,"date":"2009-06-06T23:20:12","date_gmt":"2009-06-07T06:20:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/edelalon.com\/blog\/?p=350"},"modified":"2015-12-22T13:10:39","modified_gmt":"2015-12-22T21:10:39","slug":"pta-training-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.edelalon.com\/blog\/pta-training-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"PTA Training Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I attended the Peralta District PTA Training\/Conference today.\u00a0 There was an overall sense of belonging in the room and the event was very well organized.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not sure if you&#8217;ve ever been in a position where you feel like there\u2019s a constant battle against the norm or your group is going against the grain.\u00a0\u00a0 Everyone in the room was a volunteer from the other schools.\u00a0 Being around the other school PTAs was amazing.\u00a0 This community of volunteers uplifted me and energized me for this upcoming year.<\/p>\n<p>The camaraderie was great but seeing more than 100 volunteers in a room was more thrilling.\u00a0 I could only imagine what could be accomplished at Ocean View if we had 100 volunteers.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the cool part about this\u20148 of the 9 board members of the Ocean View PTA attended the conference.\u00a0 I\u2019ve been at Ocean View for 5 years and I\u2019ve never heard of a board with that attendance at the training.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a dream come true for any board.\u00a0 These conferences are important for each board member because they learn about their specific job titles, duties, and the common problems that happen.<\/p>\n<p>Most people would fear joining the PTA after hearing more about the California State Budget cuts on education but our PTA is more excited to raise funds for the students this year.\u00a0 I can\u2019t wait to see what happens.<\/p>\n<p>Stay tuned.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I attended the Peralta District PTA Training\/Conference today.\u00a0 There was an overall sense of belonging in the room and the event was very well organized.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not sure if you&#8217;ve ever been in a position where you feel like there\u2019s a constant battle against the norm or your group is going against the grain.\u00a0\u00a0 Everyone [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":486,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"tdm_status":"","tdm_grid_status":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[72],"tags":[120],"class_list":["post-350","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-leadership","tag-pta"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.5 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>PTA Training Conference &#8226; Edel Alon<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"Hello, we have well thought out reading topics on technology, leadership, project management, food, weddings, and tools to help your daily life.
