I’m beginning to think that a lot of the food I make comes purely from inspiration.\u00a0 It\u2019s either that or I\u2019m really a sucker for marketing.\u00a0 I was walking past a giant display of flat screen televisions and Ratatouille was playing.\u00a0 In terms of Pixar flicks, Ratatouille ranks up there with Incredibles and Toy Story.\u00a0 Sorry but Wall-e disappointed me; however, I did manage to get a well-rested sleep in a theater.<\/p>\n

Going back to Ratatouille.\u00a0 I thought to myself, \u201cIf a rat can do it, so can I!\u201d\u00a0 I researched recipes all over the place and no one really seemed to have a standard.\u00a0 Thomas Keller\u2019s French Laundry<\/a> and his technique of making ratatouille inspired the movie.\u00a0 So I tried it out, just like Remy did\u2026or at least a variation of it.\u00a0 I took all the ingredients that I found on all the ratatouille recipes on the internet, and removed some like squash florets to make my recipe.<\/p>\n

Ingredients
\n<\/strong>Squash
\nZucchini
\nTomatoes
\nEggplant
\n1 can tomato sauce
\nBasil
\nOregano
\nCumin
\n
\nDirections<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Slice the squash, zucchini, tomatoes, and eggplant into thin slices.\u00a0 Use a mandolin if you have one.<\/li>\n
  2. Arrange them in a pie dish.<\/li>\n
  3. Bake for 30 minutes in a 400-degree oven.<\/li>\n
  4. In a separate pan, add the tomato sauce, basil, oregano, and cumin.<\/li>\n
  5. Cook over medium heat and reduce the liquid by 50%.<\/li>\n
  6. Pour liquid over vegetables.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
