I was craving some kabob type of food but wanted something different from the normal. Since I had a few pounds of ground beef I decided to go for some meatball type of a dish. I found this recipe for kofta\u2026kefta or kefteh. I guess it is pronounced differently in the different regions.<\/p>\n

I found this recipe to be pretty easy to prepare and execute. Well,\u00a0at the end of it\u2026this is really a hamburger shaped like a hotdog.<\/p>\n

\nIngredients:<\/h3>\n

\u2022 1 pound Ground Beef or Lamb Meat
\n\u2022 1 egg yolk
\n\u2022 2 Medium size Onions (chopped)
\n\u2022 3 tbsp Coriander leaves (chopped)
\n\u2022 8 Green Chilies (chopped)
\n\u2022 \u00bd tsp of Oregano
\n\u2022 1 tsp black pepper powder
\n\u2022 Salt to taste
\n\u2022 Bamboo sticks (soaked in water)<\/p>\n

Method<\/h3>\n

1. Add all the ingredients together and mix well.
\n2. Give a round shape shapes (like balls), refrigerate for 3 hours.
\n3. Take out the mixture and put the meat on a bamboo stick.
\n4. Press it into the stick and shape it like a hotdog but smaller. Use some oil on your hands to prevent it from sticking to your hands.
\n5. Grill \/ bake or shallow fry them until done\u2026since it\u2019s ground\u2026you want the internal temperature to reach at least 160 degrees.<\/p>\n

Time to eat!<\/h3>\n

Serve immediately. Enjoy with tomato sauce or a yogurt sauce.<\/p>\n

Tips :<\/h3>\n

If you like spicy food you may increase the amount of red chili powder. You also don’t have to use skewers. They hold a shape really well from the egg.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
