Most of you have 4 burners on your cooking range.\u00a0 Usually a large, medium, and two small or some combination like that.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t matter if you have gas or electric.\u00a0 There are even some of you with 5 burners (it\u2019s on my wish list).<\/p>\n
Why am I bringing this up?\u00a0 There have been many times while entertaining, someone comes into the kitchen, quickly runs out, and tells my wife that I\u2019m using all 4 burners.\u00a0 Now we all grew up with grandparents or even parents that believed in one pot cooking.\u00a0 I\u2019ll go into one pot cooking in another post in the future.\u00a0 It\u2019s an important skill\u2026when camping and makes for a savory dish.\u00a0 Going back to the burners.\u00a0 Yes, there are 4 of them.<\/p>\n
Most of us can easily use 2 of them at a time.\u00a0 I was taught the same\u2026cook your main, then cook your sides after the main is done.\u00a0 What I want you to get from this is to stretch your limits and try for the 3rd burner and then make it to the 4th.\u00a0 You\u2019ll find yourself saving time and soon enough you\u2019ll be making 20-minute meals.
\nI usually do this: main burner takes care of the main dish; the medium burner handles a side dish like veggies; the smaller burners are for sauces and\/or mini sides like caramelized onions.<\/p>\n

\nIt\u2019s all about timing.\u00a0 Make sure you time out your meal and prep your ingredients.\u00a0 If your ingredients aren\u2019t ready, you might end up with burned oil (yes, oil burns, I\u2019ll go into that later).\u00a0 In the beginning, don\u2019t use high heat.\u00a0 Gradually increase the heat as you feel comfortable.<\/p>\n
