Simple appetizer for large groups.
Ingredients
1 French baguette
2 Tbsp olive oil
125 g goat cheese, at room temperature
250 g fresh figs, stems removed and quartered
¼ Cup toasted hazelnuts
Sea salt
Ground black pepper
Balsamic vinegar or honey, for garnish
Fresh thyme
Method
- Preheat oven to 375 F.
- Slice the baguette into ¼-inch pieces.
- Place the sliced baguette on a rimmed quarter sheet baking pan. Drizzle with olive oil and salt. Bake until crispy and golden, about 5-7 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes.
- Using a small spatula, spread about 1 tablespoon goat cheese on each crostini, covering most of the bread. Layer quartered figs on top of the cheese.
- Sprinkle with toasted hazelnuts, fresh thyme and season with a little sea salt and black pepper on each crostini. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar or honey. Serve immediately and enjoy!
