The Cardboard Throne: Up-Cycling in the IT Department
The other day, I was deep in the glamorous world of network and system administration. Spoiler alert: it’s not always just configuring servers and managing software deployments. Sometimes, it’s pure physical labor.
Case in point: I had to unpack over 80 boxes of new computers.
After tearing through miles of packing tape and dealing with what felt like a small mountain of styrofoam, I found myself in desperate need of a place to rest my legs. Naturally, in a room completely overflowing with hardware and packaging, there wasn’t a single actual chair available. So, I improvised. I decided to make a literal throne to sit on out of the very boxes I had just emptied.
Forget basic recycling. I’m now fully embracing this whole up-cycling movement. Yes, I know it’s been a trend for years, but when you build yourself a king-sized seat out of heavy-duty cardboard, it feels like a total revelation. I just wanted to throw this one out there to prove that tech support occasionally requires some serious architectural skills, too.
