Trading Costumes for Cozy: Cuffing Season is Officially Upon Us
Cuffing season is coming. It’s almost Halloween.
It feels like just yesterday we were soaking up the summer sun, but the vibe has officially shifted. The mornings are getting crisper, the sun is clocking out way too early, and the sudden urge to stay indoors is becoming very real.
If you aren’t familiar with “cuffing season,” it’s that magical time of year from late fall through the dead of winter where people suddenly get the overwhelming urge to find a partner to “cuff” themselves to. Because let’s be honest, going out to crowded bars or dealing with the cold loses its appeal real quick when the temperature drops.
The Transition is Real:
-
From Spooky to Snuggly: Right now, everyone is stressing over last-minute Halloween costumes and making party plans for the 31st. But the second the clock strikes midnight on November 1st? It’s all oversized hoodies, heavy blankets, and marathon movie sessions.
-
The Food Shift: We are officially entering the danger zone of comfort food. Bring on the rich broths, the heavy carbs, and the endless excuses to order delivery. Working in the restaurant industry, I definitely see the sudden shift in what people are craving the second the weather turns.
-
The Indoor Tax: Suddenly, staying in on a Friday night doesn’t make you boring; it makes you a survivalist.
Whether you are actively looking for a seasonal plus-one, already cuffed up, or perfectly happy flying solo with a giant bowl of popcorn and a good movie, there is no denying the season is changing.
Are you team “go out all winter” or team “hibernate until spring”? Let me know in the comments.
