How to Give Your Wedding the Fun Factor

Your friends and family will love being there to witness you and your partner commit your lives to one another, but the teary-eyed ceremony is only one part of the ‘amazing wedding’ equation. The other ingredients are a world-class meal and, yep, plenty of fun.

Let’s focus on the last of those ingredients, the ‘fun’ part. Your guests will be taking time out of their lives, and often traveling a fair distance, to be with you. You owe them a good time — after all, there’s no better way to show you gratitude than by ensuring that they return home with plenty of happy memories.

Looking to give your wedding a healthy dollop of fun? Check our tips below.

Hire a Live Band

Everyone hires a DJ for their wedding party (and you should too). Not everyone hires a live band to get the party started, but in our view, everyone should. Live music just hits different, especially when you have a great band bashing out some stone-cold classics. It’s an excellent way to announce, in no uncertain times, that the party is about to start. Add in some inflatable dancing props, and you’ll have even the most dancefloor-shy guests busting out a few moves.

Mix Up Some Cocktails

Slinging out some cocktails is an effective way to make any occasion fun, and the strategy works even double at weddings. Your guests will be raring to have a good time; a couple of well-made cocktails will be the fuel that gets the fire started. We’d recommend hiring a professional bartender to mix some cocktails for your guests for a couple of hours. Want to really impress your guests? Look at creating your very own signature cocktail for the event.

Take Fun Photos

There’s going to be a lot of photos taken at your wedding, so why not add a little bit of fun? Buying a few photo props, wigs, and selfie sticks will take your guest’s wedding photos to a whole new level — and ensure that you have plenty of photos to look back on when your big day is over. Have your guests upload their fun photos directly using shared wedding photo album software so that the photos are kept safe until you’re back from your honeymoon. Trust us, it’s much easier to have your guests upload photos to an online album on the day itself, rather than trying to get them to send you their photos at a later date!

Take Care of Logistics

Finally, this might not sound like the most fun idea on this list, but actually, taking care of logistical issues can have a big impact on your wedding day’s fun credentials. Your wedding guests will be more likely to cut loose and have a good time if they know that they’ll be transported back to their hotel, or that they’ll be served a midnight snack and don’t need to go in search of food. It’s a tried and tested formula for keeping the party going all night.
