Oakland Zoo Glowfari

Like many of you, I’ve been feeling cramped from the shelter in place. For me going out during the day is generally a rush to gather supplies or groceries. Nightlife has ceased. So I was really excited when the Oakland Zoo opened its doors at night with a lit activity.

The zoo is featuring animal lanterns throughout the zoo. All of them are large and have great color and design very similar to real animals. The entire path is about a mile long going through 3 different themes: blue planet (water-related animals), wild kingdom (big cats and other land animals), and the land of the lost (dinosaurs).

Unfortunately, the live animals go to sleep at night and are tucked into their heated rooms.

The zoo has staggered tickets to help prevent the spread of the Corona virus so ticket times are 6pm, 7pm, or 8pm.

Check them out at Oakland Zoo. Go today because the exhibit closes mid-January.
